SEPTEMBER 6 2021

my dad dropped me off at the FSU center after breakfast. i met ignacio, the dean of the center, and dropped off my luggage and went to explore the city with my dad. we ate at this spanish restaurant where they gave us a lot of food and i tried my first “cerveza clara” and the “paella valenciana”.

later that evening we had a welcome dinner with everyone in the program. i sat in a table of six with daniela (my roommate), eli, julia, jennifer, and anna-karina. afterwards, the six of us went to look for an open store to buy things for a night in and everything was closed. so we went back to our rooms. that night, i slept in my dorm for the first time and met all my flatmates, jacqui, katiana, camila, daniela, marley, & abbi. everyone so far is really nice and i’m not feeling as homesick as i expected to feel.

i also began to unpack that day because we literally couldn’t get to our beds without climbing some type of luggage.

this is my roommate, daniela. i sleep, eat, breathe, study, travel, brush my teeth with her. she’s definitely the outgoing one out of the two of us. she makes friends wherever she goes.

here’s a before & after of our room… (still under construction though)
