SEPTEMBER 17 2021

we were up so late last night because of all the people in our living room. we had to wake up so early for our train to alicante at 7am. this was our first time traveling in spain and independently. we got to the train station before there was light outside and went to a cafe inside while we waited to board the train.

the train ride had so many pretty views. kat and i couldn't stop taking pictures of what was outside the window (and dani sleeping).

finally in alicante...!!

we took a taxi from the train station to the airbnb and once we got there we had to wait in the hot sun for the airbnb owner to arrive. turns out we had 2 hours until we had the airbnb so we backpack-ed (and i say backpack-ed because all we had were these big backpacks for the weekend) to a little restaurant called brunch corner. i hadn't tried açaí before and i wasn't too impressed. everyone else loved this place, like LOVED it. im not gonna lie the decor was super cute and even the way they decorated the plates with the flowers.

then after, we backpack-ed back to the airbnb. it was like a 15-minute hot walk back but alicante was so pretty and empty. the strees were so nice, and even though the cat-calling was an issue, the trees and flowers added so much beauty to the city.

since we were a bit early, we visited the beach under the apartment complex. the beach was seriously one of the prettiest places i'd ever been to. for being so close to valencia and so beautiful, im not sure why more people haven't heard about it or gone to visit.

after we finally got to the airbnb, we laid our stuff down and made ourselves at home. the view from the airbnb was AMAZING. even the airbnb itself was crazy with the interior design. ill attach some pictures at the very bottom of the post.

after we took a short nap before we headed to this place we saw on tiktok. the place was called "baños de la reina" and we had to take a taxi to get there. the view was crazy when we got there. i need to show pictures so you get the full effect, but it was kinda dangerous to get there because of the rocks and cliffs.

the water was freezing cold but we took so many pictures before it got too cold to handle. when we tried to leave the area, we realized we basically couldn't. no taxis came to pick up and we were basically stranded because there wasn't any service either. we walked a long time until we finally came across the tram line and we used it to get back to the area we were staying in.

when we finally got back to our area, we went to the grocery store to buy food for breakfast and dinner. instead of going to restaurants, we found that buying groceries was obviously a lot cheaper and since were ballin' on a budget we got really gross pizza dough from mercadona (sorry mercadona, but its true). we ended up having a wine night and getting to know eachother. we had one big sleepover in the living room despite the fact that we had a whole bedroom with a king size bed.

more photos from the airbnb...
