SEPTEMBER 8 2021

this morning i said goodbye to my dad. i was pretty sad but i tried keeping myself distracted. we had our last orientation meeting with a lot of information. then i had my first real college class at 2:30. it’s really strange because our classrooms are under our dorms and inside the walls of the city ruins. hopefully soon i can get a picture and show you. my classes are 3 hours each but luckily we do get 10-20 min. breaks at least once. classes themselves are a lot different than at home. we went outside to do an assignment and we had to talk to local businesses about their company‘s goals and values.

i was feeling pretty sad about my dad leaving and it’s been a draining first few days so dani asked me to take a walk with her around the riverbed and we took a lot of pictures. it was really nice and peaceful to have some quiet time.

LONG DISTANCE

at this point, i‘m starting to realize that finding time for chara is going to be more difficult than i thought.

there are many factors that take part.

for example…

  • 7 hour time difference

  • don't have my own room

  • classes (his & mine)

  • i‘m extremely overwhelmed with my new environment that i’m always busy and don’t have a second to sit down

  • my wifi sucks here

and if we do have some free time to facetime it‘s only for 20-30 min. max.

luckily, chara has been really patient and in the next week or so, once things get settled down, i hope i’m able to call and talk more.
